Vacation Bible School—June 10-14, 2024

Vacation Bible School, June 10-14, 2024

During “The Great Jungle Journey” VBS, your kids will explore biblical answers to their questions as they set off on an epic adventure from Genesis to Revelation. Amid sloths, butterflies, river dolphins, and dart frogs, your children will sail along on a fun jungle cruise, stopping at seven ports of call. These ports are the 7 C’s of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. Kids will discover how these events shape our world, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday life. Don’t miss the fun!

Vacation Bible School (“VBS”) is a week-long event that is focused primarily to kids and caters to their special interests and point-of-view. Each year the church features a new, uniquely themed curriculum. Set in the early evenings, the program is convenient for parents to drop their kids off right after work and go grab a bite. In all, the program is two hours each night, for five nights with a closing program the last night of the week.

The objective of VBS is to teach kids values-based, biblical lessons while they experience fun games, engaging skits and great music. Simply put—VBS teaches kids in an atmosphere of outrageous fun. The program is geared for children aged 4-12 and divided up into age-appropriate groups.

Participation is FREE!

Vacation Bible School at Open Door Baptist Church runs each weeknights during June 10th – 14th—Monday through Friday starting at 6:30 pm each night.

National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting all Americans to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Open Door Baptist Church coordinates each year with the national organizing committee for the day’s prayer event.

We will be joining our hearts together at 9:00 AM on Thursday, May 4th 2023 to pray for our nation. We welcome everyone from the community to do the same.

The National Day of Prayer (NDP) Task Force exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represent a Judeo-Christian expression of the national observance, based on the understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.
